P0154 OBD Code- HELP

I've researched the forum extensively for ways to resolve code P 0154 on my recently purchased 2001 Disco II with 82,000 miles. I know it refers to the forward O2 sensor on the passenger side of the vehicle. I replaced the sensor with a bosch unit but the code reappears almost immediately after I erase it with an OBD unit.
Any other ideas or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. The truck runs smoothly without any hesitation but I'm certain my gas mileage is pretty poor. Wires and plugs were recently replaced with STI wires and Bosch platimnum plugs. Not sure what to look at next.....

Without sounding very naive, what would be the most effective way to clean the MAF? Also, could the harness to the O2 sensor be a culprit... it's soooo close to the exhaust manifold?

Don't attempt to clean any MAF on a D2, it tends to kill them and since you have no MAF indicated fault codes, leave it alone.
Consider inspecting and cleaning your 02 connection, that could cause a dead 02 or you have a bad 02 harness that will need some attention.

Thanks for your input Mike. I forgot to add that in addition to code P0154, my OBD scanner has a features that identified the following: CAT - NOT READY; EVAP - NOT READY & 02S - NOT READY Couldthat be another clue????.
How do you suggest I check the integrity of the O2 harness? There is little space for any splicing if necessary.

You may have gotten those warnings cause you were trying to read your codes when the engine was cold in open loop.
Send me your tele number and I can call you tomorrow.
