    Baja 1000 Trip Pics!

What a great trip! Scoped out the rancho, found a great spot to watch the race from (great job Chuck!) and got to do a quick boulder run to Laguna Hanson. Not too much on words right now, have to get back to work after I post these...will fill in more details later...

More pics of the race and where we were watching it, we were just up from the last turn before the hairy descent to the dry Laguna Salida lake bed. Some of the switchbacks are so tight the trophy trucks and Hummers have to do a 3 point turn!

Pretty solid journey to Baja. Only prolem is that it appears somebody jacked your carne asada and threw a bunch of burgers and dogs on your grill, what's up with that?
If you can't fix it with a hammer, then you have an electrical problem.

First two days and 12+ pounds of tri tip we just wanted to do some sirloin burgers and Casper's hot dogs to change it up a bit, plus I had a feeling I'd be feeding some of the locals and burgers/dogs are easy. We had chicken drumsticks in a tequila/spices marinade that night, they were delicious!! Still went through 22 pounds of tri tip in 5 days even with the chicken and pork mixed in.

Mike, I backed into a boulder that I didn't see, even scraped off some of the rust!

    RoverDude Trip Report

    Wednesday:
After connecting with the Nor Cal group (Eric, Ari, Eric & Shelby and Chuck aka DesertCrawler) at the shop we (myself, Pete [93 RRC] and Ben & Matt [Jeep]) set off to Ari's aunt's place at La Rumorosa via the Tecate border crossing. With an elevation of 5,000 ft a nice fire was very appropriate. 5 more coolers and a freezer/fridge missing from photo.

    Thursday:
Headed to the Canyon de Gaudalupe Hot Springs. Hiked up the mountain to the cold water hole and waterfall. That night we revolved between the cooler, hot tub and campfire all night.
