I finally picked up the fibergrate with the help of Mike. I will be cutting this weekend - so they will be ready early next week. I will post photos as well.

Anyone have a pair of these I can borrow next week or for sale? I may be hitting a trail with lots of sand by myself and would like to have a set as back up.

    Thanks

Hey, I'd loan you mine, but the wrong side of the state. They were a great DIY, but heavy as heck. Have you thought about canvas? I have heard that if you get stuck in sand (diggin in) that you can jack up the wheel, lay a heavy canvas over the sand and it will keep you from diggin in again. Never tried it, but loved the idea as canvas is a lot easier to pack than these ladders were.

Grab some used carpet from your local installers dumpster and you'll be set for sand!
