    Block failure

    RATS.

Unfortunately my beloved 2000 SE seems to be in need of a block.

Started consuming coolant ( not overheating, no CEL) about three months ago. It became gradually more, where it was drinking almost a gallon a week.

No steaming out the tailpipe, no drips. I suspected coolant going into the combustion chambers, but no misfires, no fouling of plugs. It ran super smooth. Had the heads pulled, the heads show normal use, "no steam cleaning" of the combustion chambers or weirdness. Valves look like they've been seating properly.

    Block time...?

This 00' has been my daily for the last two years, with nary a problem, ever. This started back in June randomly.

Any thoughts from the Oracle ?

Coolant has to go somewhere... either burnt or mixed in oil.... have you check for leaks?
    over-pressurizing at all?

    Nothing.

Not a smudge of coolant or moisture on the dipstick, in the overflow tank , under the cap or under the oil filler cap. No smell, no fuming out the back.

No CEL on, no rough start, no uneven idle.

I did ALL the coolant components last summer:

    Radiator
    Clutch fan
    W pump
    T stat
    Upper / lower hoses
    Elbows
    Throttle body kit
    Heater core
    T case cover
    Overflow cap

Nothing drips, except a little dribble sometimes out of the overflow tube, very little.

As you say, it HAS to be going somewhere. The heads are off and look totally normal. No steaming or shinny valves.

    ????????????

    RATS.

    I am truly puzzled.
