    Rear brake mod

Defender 300tdi 90 - I would like to put a bigger caliper ( similar if not the same as the front 4 pots)on the rear axel of my 90. I have read ( a long time ago) there is a direct fit from a different land rover . Not sure now what it was. Any of you guys have any idea.

    Thanks

Not sure of a direct fit, but RedWinch out of the UK makes an adapter bracket to run a front caliper in the rear. You'll probably need an adjustable proportioning valve to dial in the braking bias though.

Why? Most of your braking power is in the front brakes.

It is, until you double the pistons in the rear calipers and double the friction area of the rear pads. Now that bias is off. You can restore that bias with an adjustable proportioning valve.
