Welcome and good luck with that engine, the VM on the RRC have a really bad reputation, don't floor it and keep it low on revs if you want it to last a little bit.

    sorry i have 200Tdi engine....
but...yes the VM on Range its very bad....is a big problem of cooling (strangely on other car was fine...urban legends landist the Italians say that the VM had given a letter to the Land for specific cooling ... but were not heard ...) ...a problem of correct assembly of the heads....if you ruin a must pave all 4....ect ect....sin is a powerful engine aggressive...but...but....general problems outperform.

Sorry, I didn't even look at the photos, you can see the 200Tdi
And the problem with engine was that it was designed for boats, so not high reving was expected... in the RRC it's easy to keep it well over it's cruise limit for too long.
    The 200tdi is a great engine, I had 2 300Tdi and I love them.

    hi/ciao
happens))) actually is a great engine, rough, noisy, but indestructible, on Italy were imported only 200 RRC whit 200 Tdi and 50 or less 300 Tdi soft dash....on the supply of VM could not say that NOT okay)))
All RRC on Italy are very rare for fiscal problems (V8) and because of the viscous coupling, the Vm, rust ....but the Queen (range) is the Queen!!!
only for info italy actual tax:
gasoline: 1.60/2,00 euro for LITER (not gallon...(((
tax circulation: 2,60 euro for KW....over 185KW = luxury car (for the Govern...) all KW more double 2,60x2(((
....are things unknown in the rest of the world....
luckily we always ; Alfa Romeo/Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini/Lancia/Fiat/Abarth.....sin ... in a while ... will no longer be Italian

before the Range...I had n.2 Fiat Campagnola (name= country girl)....very highly technological project for 70/80"(independent suspension/torsion bars/ZF LSD 100% front+rear ect ect,,,,,one small Hummer))) but rust and very frequent maintenance (number 36 point for grease...)...remains the consolation ... is famous for the attack on the Pope. http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Fiat_model-1107.html

Oh, I am from Spain, I know what you are talking about V8s over there!
But here there is really no option, although I am very happy with my 4.2 V8 right now.
