    With a loaded rack, the air gap could cause a bit of noise.

    although I've seen that old 1980s cheesy clip on YouTube ( the four-part deal, with the straight-on 1980's Dallas-Dynasty-MiamiVice cheekawoomwoom background music..), and they also seemed to ride fairly high....
    I don't think I have yet exceeded 45 mph going down El Camino Real, so not too worried about aerodynamics at this point.

    At any rate, I will leave it up to the new potential owner to shorten them if he wishes. It's on Ebay already, so we'll see.
