    1988 RRC "Baja Edition" Project

Well, I've been working on my new project for a couple of months now and wanted to see what you guys think.
This RRC started out as a convertible project by our friend John Gadd (aka Rover Dude), and I bought it from him still thinking convertible until I rode around in a buddy's jeep soft top on the freeway and thought differently . Great when the top's off but damn loud when you need the top on. ( I'm getting old ! )
So this is what I've come up with instead.

Yep, an RRC Extra-cab Truck ! I call it the "Baja Edition". Still lots of work to do, but this is where I'm at to date. Sorry for the poor pics. It will emerge from the garage soon.......
I like it, hope you do too !!!

I dig it. I have found that there are benefits to closed and open cargo areas.

Have you thought about a small cage around the cargo area? Not so much for rollover protection, but for travel, if you had a metal 1" tube frame with some extruded steel bolted around it, you will probably loose less stuff when parked? My thought are like when I went to Moab and was overnight in Vegas at the hotels....less crime of opportunity. IF you made them with welded studs and put holes in the "cage" you could put them off and on as needed
It's about people and the Land Rovers that own them.

Well since this is my thread, I just want to say that John Gadd (aka Roverdude) is one nice guy to deal with.
If you ever need any parts or work, get a hold of him. He's honest (most of the time !) and has gone out of his way
to help me with my RRC project. And he has a very cool dog too !
    Gracias Amigo.....

I think I like it. I'd love to see more pictures of the details when you get it out of the garage, but at this point, it looks good.

"30 year" (ret) auto body guy here, that looks to be some fine work.

Please put a check in the "cool" column from me.
Just because you can afford to "buy" Land Rover doesn't mean you can afford to "own" a Land Rover!!!
