    Moved to Virginia

I know that a lot of people on this forum are from the west coast but if anybody wants to to some wheeling in Virginia area, let me know. Or if you know of some good clubs or websites for trails I would appreciate it.
    Thanks
    Mike

If you like driving on the beach, you can drive on the beach in Kitty Hawk, NC about 1 hour south of Va Beach

RTE Shop is in Raleigh/Durham area about 2 hours from you.

Will Tillery (www.roverguy.com) for parts and service in Danville,VA. West on US Rt 58 from you, but a good 3 hours or more. He ships parts as well and has good prices and knows his stuff on rovers.

Once I get my rover on the road again, we will have to catch up. There are plenty of rover guys in the Richmond area, should be some in Va Beach/Chesapeake as well. There are plenty south of you in the coastal part of NC as well.

    Great info

    Tony,
This a great list and I really appreciate it. Living this close to RTE is exciting... maybe I can actually afford some of their products if I don't have to pay for shipping. If you need any help once you have the funds/parts for the head gasket job let me know. I have never done one on a Land Rover, but I have done it on a couple of triumphs.

I can't add anything to Hokie's list but I'll add a warm welcome to VA. Welcome Mike. Where are you coming from, if I might ask?

I will have to catch up with you on the lake in my old pontoon. If you are at some upscale club my little old boat may not quite fit in, so could just catch you on the water somewhere LOL!

Also, add these guys to your list. They are on Facebook.

Blue Ridge Expedition - The two guys that started this company were off-road guys who were hired by LR and then trained by LR to worked at the driving school at the Biltmore Estates in Asheville, NC before starting there own outdoor adventure company. Their adventures includes off-road adventures and safety & recovery training, plus other outdoor treks that they can plan including kayaks, mtn biking, etc. Jon & Marshal are great guys, and I spent a weekend in some nice, fluffy, fresh, overnight snow in the western mtns of NC back in Jan. 2010 with them. This was their first Winter Safari for my first off-road driving and they were great teachers and very knowledgeable and fun! They have some nice snow pictures on their Facebook page.

    San Diego To Virginia

Thanks for all of the info everyone.

@Yubert, Yeah we left San Diego because the Navy needed me elsewhere. I will be honest I have totally forgotten about the Bottorf t-shirt. I agree...BURN IT or do what ever else you want with it.

We are excited to explore more of the the east coast offer.

@Rover_Hokie, I am part of the Navy Yacht club so it is not snobbish at all. I generally pick up a canoe or kayak for the day from them and go exploring, Hit me up if you want and we can go out on the water some time.
