Paul and Helen: Going Overland Transglobal Expedition

Mark aka GriffSC posted this on the NCLR club site: http://nclrclub.org/forum/showthread...ent-on-3-11-11

Knowing the event was taking place, jumped on my 110 and headed to the Walnut Creek; had the opp to meet and talk with Paul and Helen last Friday about their adventure: http://www.goingoverland.com/

Great folks, enjoyed the story telling from trip prep, to road hazzards on their 110, field epairs, pitfalls of their travels, cultural experience..... My 2 boys and I enjoyed their traveling slideshow, and amazing looking 110 in person. Paul is great with presentation to kids! And super friendly willing to answer questions from maintaining the air filter during dusty trek on Mongollia, Staying warm in their RTT in Siberia... to shipping their 110 from Russia to Seattle, WA.

Here are 360 pictures of their trusty Land Rover - all decked out with the RTT (Roof Top Tent).

Also they are on the way to S. Cal, Texas is next I believe and then into Mexico mid April; continue to S. America and then Africa, and beyond.

Post something in their blog and perhaps catch up with them if in the area; also besides traveling in their 110, you can show your support for the charities they are passoniate about - they accept donation.

Wish them a safe travel, and succesfully completing their overland journey.

    Cheers!

I have to go back and look at my pics. I saw a 110 up near Hwy 49 back in May. But it was a stressful day and I do not recall the details/color of the fully kitted out 110.
