I'm thinking this is partly at fault, the holes that mount to the frame I opened up a bit to allow for fitment and with all the removal of bumpers in the past (stock -> ARB -> Stock -> current) i know my frame holes have opened up a bit as well.

All this might have contributed to what I am seeing now. What surprises me is that even with all the winching and other pulls the bumper never moved till most recently. I'm guessing the load of extracting a stuck suburban was just far greater than all the other recoveries I have done.
