I searched the forum for this issue but didn't find this particular one.
I replaced the battery in my 99 Disco II last weekend. Everything was fine until today. I drove for about 3 miles and all fault lights came on when I shut off the engine. I tried restarting it and then the engine wouldn't shut off until I stepped on the brake?? When it was running everything was fine and acted normal. I drove it home and disconnect the battery so it wouldn't run down. I was afraid something bad would happen if I left it hooked up.
Is this the computer going nuts? or something like that. If it is the conputer what is involved in putting in a new one?
Did the battery change have anything to do with this?

Thanks for your help

Last Weekend I took my 04 Disco in for emissions testing and didn't pass for 2 reasons. 1. The battery was dead and had to jump start the truck prior to me bringing it in so everything was cleared out and 2. I had a amber "service engine soon" light illuminated. This was the first time I have ever had to run any emissions testing on any vehicle so I was unsure of the process. I though they would just put a sniffer in the tail pipe and that was it. Hooked up my ODBII reader and received two codes (P1412, P1415). The codes cleared once I replaced the SAI solenoid so the "service engine soon" light is gone and my OBDII scanner is not showing any codes. I was advised by the tech, since the battery was dead, to drive the Rover around for a while for the all the sensors to get a reading and come back. I have since put about 150 miles on the truck and the Evaporative System and Secondary Air System still have not gotten a reading as both monitors are flashing on my OBDII reader. Is this a sign of a bigger problem? Is there any tricks to get these two sensors to read? Or is this just a case where I just need to drive the truck some more and everything will be fine?

I have an 04 D2.

Yesterday I got in it and the Driver seat worked great. Today I got in it and it wont move. None of the power functions work on the seat.

I have checked all the fuses under the dash, under the hood and under the driver seat.

It appears that there is no power to the fuse block under the seat.

Where should I start to look or check for the reason why there is not power to the seat? All plugs seem to be connected under the seat as well.

Thanks in advance for any help that you might be able to give.

I need to extend my breathers does anybody have any good suggestions as to how and where to get the material. I know you can buy premade kits form the UK but it will take forever and I need it soon going wheeling in a week. The stock tubing is 6mm outside diameter and 4mm inside diameter and it is a nylon plastick. Any ideas? My rear breathers are super low they barely come up to the top of the back tire. I know that I shouldn't go higher than that, I already found that out the hard way. But I just wanted to make sure that no water gets in there again!

ok so long story short I'm down to the last issue on the dII till I smog it, former individual ripped the o2 out when driveshaft failed. I checked lines etc and swapped o2 the sensor is still not reading.
What he did was took all 4 wires for the o2 and twisted them together then shoved them in a frame rail.

So I've narrowed it down to a bad pin out on the ecu and with 6 days till smog I ordered a ecu and bcm matched pair to swap in so i can have a functioning set and run it without reprogramming.

Kind of down to the wire chasing stuff so i was told that a matched ecu/becm from same vehicle should hook up and run fine.

Disconnect battery/remove both replace and reconnect.

Oil pump bolt failure? My 04 disco 2 w/ 151,00 miles on him just quit after a trip across the desert to pick up my off road trailer in Gardnerville,NV. Amazingly it quit in the city limits of SLC where we have a great dealer for service instead of out in Nevada(now that would be a tow bill). Anyway- dealer says oil pump bolt broke and caused timing chain to jam so she quit-imagine that! Anyone else ever had this issue and are there other related failures I can look forward to?

I am going to let it sit overnight and go back
